PE Kit
Our normal PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. Children should always have their PE kit in for those two days. During the summer term it is important that they have an outdoor kit, including trainers that fit, and tracksuit bottoms if they wish – as we will get on the field as much as possible. Leading up to sports day we may have extra practises so it is best if they have their kit in every day.
Homework
Homework will continue to be sent home on a Friday and is due back on Wednesday at the latest. If the children are set a creative project to complete over a number of weeks they will not receive their weekly Literacy and Numeracy tasks. Spellings will also be sent home with the weekly homework to be tested on the following Friday.
Maths target booklets
Just a reminder that we are continuing to give high priority to improving the mental recall of number facts and extra input from home is invaluable in this area. Please keep practising the targets from your Maths booklet.
It is essential that all children know the following number facts by the end of Year 3 -
- Addition and subtraction facts for all numbers to 20 e.g. 9 + 8, 17 – 9 , using knowledge of inverse operations – if you know 7 + 5 = 12 , then 12 – 7 must be …?
- Pairs of digits that total 100 e.g. 32 + 68, or 32 + ? = 100
- Multiplication facts for 2,3,4,5,6, and 10 x tables + corresponding division facts
