Sport

Children are given lots of opportunities to participate in sporting and active pursuits both during school and as extra curricular activities.  Some of the activities that have taken place over the last year include; netball, rounders, cricket, tag rugby, football, athletics, swimming, gymnanstics, street dance, junior zumba, volleyball, hockey, table tennis, badminton, cross country, basketball and tennis...

Olympic Events

On Wednesday 25th April we launched our summer “Olympic” term with a sponsored torch carry for twelve hours, from 7am – 7pm. All the classes participated throughout the school day and many, many other people joined in during the event! As you can see from the pictures below, we were fortunate that it didn’t rain until later on because when it came it didn’t stop…

A great thanks to all those who took part, you really did enter into the Olympic spirit and you are all heroes! From the money that is raised, a donation will be made to a local charity, founded by Steve Cram, to help children inAfrica. This Summer term we have introduced a House System - Chris Hoy, Kelly Holmes, Ellie Simmonds and Steve Redgrave. We will share the Olympic values –friendship, respect, excellence, determination, courage, equality and inspiration – and explain how the children can win house points.

Week beginning 2nd July - Sports days on an Olympic theme

Tuesday 3rd July (pm) – Years 5 & 6

Wednesday 4th July (pm) – Years 1 & 2

Thursday 5th July (pm) – Years 3 & 4

Friday 6th July (am) – Reception

House points will be collated at end of this week. The winning house will receive a small trophy at the start of the following week.

Mr Forrester produces a weekly newsletter to celebrate our sporting achievements.  We thought it would be a nice idea to share them with you as pdfs so you can print a copy, email to grandparents etc.
